Is It Heartburn Or More?

Heartburn is a burning sensation in the chest, that builds up behind the breast bone, that feels like you are on fire. It generally comes after eating a huge or spicy meal. It affects at least sixty million Americans each month. Occasional heartburn does not necessarily mean you have a health problem. However, it is irritating nonetheless. So let's see what are some of our options for treating occasional heartburn.

Antacids
Loose weight
Eat smaller meals
Wear looser clothing
Don't eat too close to bedtime
Eat more slowly, chew your food thoroughly
Avoid food and beverages that are acidic or have caffeine
Drink warm tea following your meal to help with digestion

For Heartburn that occurs frequently please see your doctor for an evaluation. I have also placed links at the bottom of this post for you to take a few quizzes in regards to other conditions that sometimes mimic heartburn symptoms. Take the quizzes then take your results with any questions to your doctor.
