Returning via Bus from Florida. Part 3

For the first 2 days, during my Granddaughter's party and Graduation,  I tried to put the Atlanta shooting behind. But I know there were two shooters and the police only caught one. I enjoyed the time I had with my daughter and her family. Unfortunately, it was hard on Boo as she just kept her tongue lolling out of her mouth and panting all the while we were there. I think she can't do the heat there so Florida is off the list to live.

Seems the Jacksonville Florida Terminal has the best employees I have seen all trip. Great way to start out my trip was, since I am disabled, my bag going below was tagged "Special Handling" which means Greyhound transfers my bag without me having to get it and lug it to my next change in buses. I wish I had that going down. I had to lug 2 carry-ons, one checked and my ESA dog Boo all while using my cane. Most people gave me looks, ignored me and pass me by until maybe lucky 13 appeared to help(this was on the trip to FL). Even during our 12 hour layover in Memphis TN Greyhound kept my checked luggage so I didn't have to worry about it and it went under the bus when the bus arrived. Now that's what I call servicing the Elderly and Disabled of our communities.

Boo was just getting tired of getting up and down the steps and also decided to slip her collar off. So I fixed the collar and let her sit on my lap for as long as my Fibromyalgia/Chronic pain would allow.

Would I go by bus again? I doubt it I'd rather take the Amtrak except in some areas you still have to switch to the bus. And if I do take the Amtrak I will be getting a sleeping car. The only experience I have taking the Amtrak was, when my son was just 6 days old, and it was in chairs only. He vomited on every shirt I had all the way from MD to CA.

In the end of all this I was the only one of the Family that made the trip to the Graduation. I don't think I will be alive long enough to see the rest of my Grandchildren Graduate. So seeing Charlie Graduate was the end of my bucket list.

I know new things can come along to help with my right sided cardiac heart failure. So I look forward to seeing them come to be used and accepted by the Big Pharma and FDA.

My Grandaughter Graduates. Part 2

After being picked up in Savannah, please see previous post "Shooting in Alanta". by my Daughter and her Husband.  I was so looking forward to spending time with my Daughter and her family as it has been at least 8 years.

What a wonderful party, the day before graduation, my Granddaughter received. Her parents went all out. All they needed was to have a band. She is their first born and already has a Scholarship. She is the first one to graduate in 32 years in our family. I graduated 40 yrs ago but never walked across the stage, life happens, but I still have my graduation certificate. While in the last 32 yrs most of the remaining family have gone on for GED's. I suppose that's the quickest and easiest way to go. However, I loved school and so does my Granddaughter.

Graduation:
Since I can't stand long nor walk up and down the bleachers I sat in a folding chair. I tried to get a few good pictures. This is the one I got during the ceremony:

And then this one my daughter got afterwards:

I am so thrilled that my Granddaughter got high honors, which is printed on her diploma, and a Scholarship to start her out.

I wish to thank anyone who has been following this journey of me bussing it to FL for this Graduation. It was all worth it, even sleeping 12 hours on the terminal floor, during a long layover each way.

Shooting in Alanta GA I experienced. Part 1

Atlanta:
Don't travel through Atlanta or Savannah GA. The people who are at those terminals are rude and obnoxious. It's been horrible for me ,being disabled and having my ESA dog boo, with me and 2 carry-ons because I have multiple pills, and they say to bring on the bus all your meds, which filled half of one carry-on. The other carry-on was food and drink. No body helped carry anything except one person then he tells you must pay him. Then to top it off I was traumatized by a man wielding a gun and shooting a gun not one time only but the cops couldn't catch him . So he comes back into the terminal again shooting
Hitting the floor. Has me in more pain. Finally my bus comes 6 hours late. I had been waiting for 4 hours before the shooters came. I am glad nobody got hurt except for one man just outside the terminal door. I hope he is okay. That night as we were shuffled out some exit, just a concrete ramp, we were told to stay low and hurry and board the awaiting bus. Then the police had the bus driver lock us in and they talked. When the driver got back on he said that some things would not be made available. Just let everyone know there was one shooter and he is in custody. But that's not what happened as the second one was still on the loose still alluding the Atlanta police.  Why tell just half the story and not the whole? Well, here I am standing up and exercising my God given right and the right of the Constitution. There were/are two shooters that night in Alanta.

Savannah:
I am sitting here and boo has to pee and my daughter Dawn is on her way so I don't have to wait 12 more hours to leave by bus. I asked 3 agents/guards to watch my bags so I can take boo out to potty. They all said no. Rude! My dog would have taken a few minutes.

So I will never ever ride a bus through Georgia again. I will be contacting Greyhound.
