Poet's Corner: Summer Days Gone By

SUMMER DAYS GONE BY

Sitting in my beach chair
Watching the gulls fly
The wind rustling my hair
Reminding me of days gone by.

Days spent upon the beach
Collecting Seashells
And inspecting each
Invigorated by the salty air.

With my dog beside me
Playing volleyball
By the edge of the sea
Until nightfall.

Traveling place to place
Camping under the stars
Beside a fire's blaze
Strumming my guitar.

Icy water tickling my toes
While crossing a stream
Spying a white-tailed doe
Illuminated by the moon's beam.

The days of summer
When life was so free
Childhood reminders
Of days gone by.
